Matt Lampe

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
Chief Information Officer
Matt Lampe is Chief Information Officer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, coming to LADWP in November 2007. At LADWP, Matt established the IT Strategic Agenda for the phased modernization of the IT application portfolio and infrastructure, a structured change management and continuous improvement, and development of an information security program. After “warm-up” projects of implementing a new call center system with self-service integration, a new print to mail platform, customer centric website with numerous self-service capabilities, and a new procurement system with on-line bidding, LADWP replaced the 39 year old core customer service and billing application, a complex project that also included mobile workforce management, water trouble, meter reader routing, and enterprise integration systems, all which went live in September 2013.

Previously, Matt was the Chief Technology Officer of the City of Portland, with responsibility over the City’s e-government initiative, the telecommunications infrastructure, and business, utility and public safety applications. The City of Portland provided extensive GIS services to the public and a unified web portal supporting internet, intranet, extranet, and blog capabilities. During his tenure, the utility billing system was replaced.

Prior to Portland, Matt held a number of leadership positions with the City of Seattle in technology, technology policy, and development regulation and project management.

Matt Lampe has Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Michigan.
